Five years ago I became a mommy but I found myself feeling very scared and vulnerable I had been diagnosed with a rare condition intrahepatic cholestasis, which affects the liver and in turn caused my son Jack to be born weeks premature onto the special care baby unit at the RVI hospital Newcastle; It is solely down to the expertise of all the staff those that can both be seen on-ward and those hidden behind the scenes that I still have him to this day.
From having my son I then started The Spoon - feeling fidgety on my maternity leave both Jack and me set to work on this most amazing and exciting adventure that has now grown a few years later into The Travelling Spoon ltd; so as we, in turn, grow as a business we thought it was about time we tried to give something back to this very special place that has not only touched our hearts but so many other families within the North East.
